Osborne Clarke, meet Clarke Osborne. Clarke Osborne, meet Osborne Clarke

Spare a thought this week for Auckland golfer Clarke Osborne, left. As reported in this week’s Taranaki Daily News, Osborne ran into all kinds of trouble on the 10th hole in the second round of the Port Taranaki Open.

First, he can’t find his tee shot. Then someone sees a ball high in the branches of a pine tree just off the fairway. Osborne throws his club at it, only to trap his driver in the branches. He climbs the tree to retrieve both club and ball, only for the ball to drop down as he’s crawling along the branch. And guess what? It wasn’t even his ball.

No such trouble for near-namesake Osborne Clarke however, the top-of-the-tree firm (see what we did there?) steadily growing their London presence. After recruiting four senior bods to the London office, the firm are compounding growth with a range of vacancies in both the capital and their Bristol premises.

To flag your interest, better tee up your CV and drive straight along to their Professionals in Law listings page for a hole load of opportunities. All right, we’re stopping now. AB
