Birds in hand

Partners have been flocking to Bird & Bird this month. Corporate transactional lawyer Marcus Chow and trademark specialist Lorraine Tay join the Singapore office from Drew & Napia and Baker & McKenzie respectively, whilst special counsel Catherine Mun, also from Baker & McKenzie, has been welcomed into Bird & Bird’s Hong Kong office. Over in Shanghai, corporate counsel Xia Chai has found a perch after winging in from Dorsey & Whitney.

Twelve go Farr

US giant Willkie Farr & Gallagher has swiped twelve partners from Dewey & LeBoeuf. The insurance sector transactional team includes two London partners, Joseph Ferraro and Nicholas Bulger, as well as Alexander Dye, Michael Groll, Robert Rachofsky and John Schwolsky, who all had leadership roles at the ‘meaty’ firm.

Brown succeeds Cameron

Ex-CMS Cameron McKenna real estate finance partner Chris Harvey has joined Mayer Brown. Mr Harvey, who was at Camerons for ten years, has an impressive list of clients including Derwent London, Lloyds Bank and HSBC, and will be using his experience to head up Mayer Brown’s real estate investment team in London.

Schnider to fill Mitchell role

‘Law firm for life’ Irwin Mitchell has been strengthening its city real estate team this month with the hire of Taylor Wessing corporate partner Jayne Schnider. Ms Schnider, who had been with the bespoke firm for 18 years, has extensive experience in advising on indirect real estate investment.
