Firm announces new Bristol office and recruitment spree

Autumn 2012 will see the opening of a new Simmons & Simmons office in Bristol.

The office will be ‘fully integrated’ with London and the firm’s eighteen other offices worldwide. Before settling on Bristol, Simmons apparently investigated a number of options, including Ireland.

Managing Partner Jeremy Hoyland promises that ‘our lawyers in Bristol will service complex legal work where they have relevant experience and where location is not an issue for our clients,’ suggesting that the office will offer enough challenge to keep even the most high-powered but London-tired lawyer on their toes. The new office will initially focus on projects, real estate and dispute resolution work.

Locating in Bristol puts the firm alongside other commercial monoliths such as Fry’s Chocolate, Ribena and Bollom Dry Cleaning.

The firm intends to have 15 to 20 lawyers of varying seniority from launch, so if you fancy escaping the smoke or just want to be part of the biggest thing in the South West since Justin Lee Collins, check out the roles on offer on Professionals in Law. KM
