It’s not just the FA making surprise moves this month
Wragges energised by Brufal hire
Wragge & Co received a boost this month with the hire of major energy specialist Jonathan Brufal. But Mr Brufal, who joins as partner from rival Norton Rose, is not the only new kid on the block. Giles Clifford, former Manches’ Thames Valley projects head, has also joined the award-winning firm’s 17-strong planning and regeneration team.
Simmons gets talent
Simmons and Simmons has welcomed another partner into its fold this month with the addition of David Williams. That’s the former head of investment funds for DLA Piper, rather than the near-namesake former Little Britain star and current Cowell cohort. Mr Williams will be joining the firm’s financial services team to help build its offering in closed-ended private funds.
The future’s bright, the future’s White
The future is certainly looking bright for Clifford Chance this month with the addition of new partner Ying White to their Beijing office. Ms White, whose previous roles include serving as Counsel in the Legal Vice Presidency of the World Bank, will be focusing on onshore and offshore funds formation for private equity and hedge funds.
Ford changes gear
Berwin Leighton Paisner real estate partner Angus Ford has moved up a gear this month after taking a new role at Eversheds. Mr Ford, who made partner at BLP in 2008, specialises in investment and redevelopment schemes and acts for institutional developers and investors in all areas of real estate.
