News from Tipperary, where a man has been arrested by Gardai after he entered an office of a successful solicitor, doused it in petrol and threatened to set it alight.

He then produced a cigarette lighter which, unfortunately for him but fortunately for everyone else, didn’t actually work.

After struggling with the lighter for several moments, the man decided to make a run for it – a course of action considerably hampered by the fact that in doing so he left his prosthetic leg behind.

The one-legged man was tracked down and taken into custody. He is believed to be a former client of the firm. No-one was injured, say the Gardai.

The late Peter Cook and Dudley Moore were understandably unavailable for comment. AB
